Thanksgiving is a day for general gratitude for all we have been blessed with; since all blessings come from God, we are thanking Him whether we know it or not.
Being thankful is more than just an appreciation for what we have but also for those who went to the trouble to bless us.
Appreciation is the author or good deeds and good deeds done to you were someone’s thankfulness for you.
Your good deeds will never be measured by their monetary value but by your intent.
Christians: being saved gives you a “bounty of Gospel” to share, to give and to bless others.
There is a special sense experienced by someone who can give repeatedly, but a difference emotion kicks in when you are on the receiving end of that giving.
When you are a person used to providing for yourself and your family, and now you must accept help from others for that; it is a very very humbling experience.
It is somewhat easier to give and somewhat troubling to receive.
Loving someone is easier than allowing someone to love you.
People resist the Gospel because they want to earn it but alas; they cannot.
Even though the Gospel is a free gift, often our pride resists the necessity of charity from any source.
To receive the Salvation of the Gospel means we must recognize the destitute condition of our heart and the meaninglessness of life without Jesus. It is a tough position to admit.
No one wants to confess their failures, yet no man can save themselves; that is one of the dilemmas of Salvation.
Life is filled with dilemmas and the process of choosing; itself, becomes a dilemma, but choosing where to spend eternity is the ultimate dilemma facing everyone!
Pride, freedom and wealth are all the enemies of your Salvation. It is when we hunger for God, hope and freedom, and see the poverty of our soul, that we seek God.
Without accepting someone’s love, you will never know the depth of it.
A Smoky Mountain HI
Here is a journey I make each day. Time flows on this side of eternity. I have aged as gracefully as reasonable as can be be expected, and yet feel not a day older in my mind. As I begin a life in the Smoky Mountains I hope you will share my journey as well. www.kleincabin.com
